SMALL TOWN. BIG HEARTS.

Almost, Maine

BY john Cariani

PARK THEATRE | DECEMBER 2014

On a freezing night in the middle of winter, the residents of Almost find themselves

falling in and out of love in the strangest ways. At exactly the same moment all across

the town, the drama of love is played out in its many variations. Couples flirt, bicker

and reunite while the northern lights burst into life in the sky above. A truly magical

midwinter night’s dream.

“By emphasising the emotional reality, this deft production turns 'Almost, Maine' into a

genuine seasonal heart-warmer”

- The Independent

“Poignant and charmingly entertaining... with kaleidoscopic role-swapping by director Simon Evans’ fine cast of six.”

- The Times

“UK cast on point in winning British premiere of cult American play”

- The Stage

Since its opening Off Broadway in 2005, Almost, Maine has been produced by over 2000 companies around the United States and performed in dozens of countries, making it one of the most frequently performed plays of the past decade. Now Go People are bringing it to London in a UK premiere of Cariani's updated version of the play.
